Qualifying only — a candidate must clear the minimum cut-off in each of the three tests to be shortlisted for the Main exam; Prelims marks are not carried into the final merit. Marks per question differ by section (English 1.0, Quantitative Aptitude ≈0.857, Reasoning ≈1.143), so a wrong answer costs one-fourth of that question's marks — ≈0.25 / ≈0.214 / ≈0.357 respectively. A blank answer carries no penalty. No numeric shortlist ratio is stated in the notice.

A wrong answer in the objective sections costs one-fourth of that question's marks (0.375 on 1.5-mark questions, 0.30 on 1.2-mark, 0.125 on 0.5-mark); a blank answer carries no penalty. A candidate must clear a minimum score in each test and overall, with cut-offs decided by IBPS against vacancies. Only Main-exam marks count for shortlisting to the Personality Test & Interview and for the final merit list.

InterviewNew mandatory pre-interview step confirmed in the CRP PO/MT-XVI notice (Clause D.c): candidates who qualify in the Main exam must appear for a Personality Test (self-report), conducted via proctored mode or at identified centres as decided by IBPS. It is NON-QUALIFYING (profile only placed before the interview panel) but APPEARING in it is mandatory to become eligible for the Interview. No marks allotted.
