Selection process
1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT 1)प्रथम चरण कंप्यूटर आधारित परीक्षा
WrittenQualifying only — normalised across shifts and used purely to shortlist for CBT 2 (15x the community-wise vacancies notified against the RRB, para 13.2). 120 minutes for PwBD/scribe-eligible candidates. Section split (para 13.1) is indicative — the notification itself warns the actual paper may vary slightly.
2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT 2)द्वितीय चरण कंप्यूटर आधारित परीक्षा
WrittenCounts to meritCBT 2 marks feed directly into the final merit list. Same qualifying percentages as CBT 1 (para 13.2.2).
Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)कंप्यूटर आधारित अभियोग्यता परीक्षा
WrittenOnly for Station Master and Traffic Assistant posts (para 13.3). Qualifying — minimum T-Score 42 in EACH test battery, flat for every category with no relaxation. No negative marking, not added to merit; final merit for these two posts weights CBT 2 70% and CBAT 30%.
Typing Skill Testटंकण कौशल परीक्षा
Typing testOnly for Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist (para 13.4): 30 wpm English or 25 wpm Hindi, on a computer with no spell-check/editing aid. Qualifying only, marks not added to merit. Exemption available for candidates with Blindness/Low Vision, Cerebral Palsy or Locomotor Disability ≥40%.
